The Interlocal Solid Waste Authority was established in 1991 after the Solid Waste Authority Act of 1991 and is comprised of Franklin, Bedford, Lincoln and Moore Counties and the City of Tullahoma as members, as well as cities within these counties who have adopted resolutions to participate in the transportation and disposal of solid waste and in its education program.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to all Residents in those areas served by the Interlocal Solid Waste Authority (“ISWA”), and all County Commissions, Town or City Councils, Mayors, City Administrators, City Managers in those areas located in or served by the ISWA, and to all other persons who may be interested, that the following dates being the second Wednesday of each month have been set for the open, public Regular Meetings of the ISWA Board of Directors in 2022:

The ISWA Board of Directors Regular Meetings will start at 6:00 p.m. (Central) and such meeting Agenda generally includes the Call to Order, Approval of Minutes, Treasurer’s Report, Monthly Report Finance Director, Regional Planning Board, Monthly Report Administrator, Tonnage Report, Transfer Stations Update, Other/New Business.
Notice also is hereby given that, prior to the ISWA’s Regular Meetings, the ISWA Board of Directors will conduct at 5:00 p.m. (Central) at the same location a Work Session to review upcoming ISWA Board meeting agendas and receive information. There will be considered at such meetings/work sessions all matters which may properly be considered at the regular meetings/work sessions of the ISWA Board.

The ISWA Board invites the public to attend the scheduled meetings/work sessions, both of which are to be held in person at the Fayetteville Municipal Auditorium 110 Elk Ave. South Fayetteville, TN.

NOTICE IS GIVEN pursuant to the provisions of the Tennessee Open Meetings Act (Sunshine Law) found in T.C.A. §8-44-101, et seq.

    MISSION STATEMENT
    To provide efficient and cost effective disposal of solid waste and to educate the citizens within the region on waste reduction and recycling practices.

    ISWA holds the contract for waste disposal within the region. We also have a contract for the mulching of yard waste that members can utilize. The region also provides an education program for the schools and the general public on waste reduction and recycling.

Carol Fulmer
Carol is the Regional Administrator of Education, Recycling & Waste Reduction and is available for presentations to organizations and groups, as well as for workshops, education booths, classroom programs, and for help organizing and setting up school and business recycling programs, drives and teacher in-service training.
